Selected in the first round (No. 15 overall) of the 2024 MLB Draft by the Seattle Mariners out of Mississippi State... previously drafted out of high school by the Milwaukee Brewers but opted instead to attend Mississippi State... signed with the Mariners on July 23, 2024... his father, Mechangelo Cijntje, was a right-handed pitcher who played professionally in the Netherlands; Jurrangelo, a natural lefty, wanted to copy his dad and liked wearing his glove, so he learned to throw with his other hand as well... his switch-pitching made news with Curacao’s 2016 Little League World Series... entered the 2025 season ranked as the No. 9 prospect in the Mariners' system by MLB.com... struck out six in his professional debut with Everett on April 6, 2025... was a two-year letterman at Champagnat Catholic High School in Miami, Florida -- in 81 innings, Cijntje had a 2.32 ERA and allowed 39 hits, 39 runs and 31 walks.
