The 2026 season was a home run for supporting home safety across Western North Carolina.

Thanks to the success of the Safe at Home Campaign, Enbridge Gas and the Asheville Tourists have donated $16,000 to the American Red Cross to help fund local home safety programs, including the installation of free smoke alarms and the distribution of carbon monoxide (CO) detectors to families throughout the region.

Throughout the 2026 season, every Asheville Tourists home run hit at HomeTrust Park triggered a donation from Enbridge Gas. The Asheville Tourists matched each donation, doubling the impact and turning every home run into an investment in community safety. The campaign began with a home run on Opening Night in April and continued throughout the season, creating a meaningful way for fans to celebrate every long ball.

"Every home run at HomeTrust Park is exciting, but knowing those moments also help improve home safety for families in our community makes them even more meaningful," said Brian DeWine, President of the Asheville Tourists. "Our partnership with Enbridge Gas allows us to turn the excitement on the field into a lasting impact off the field, and we're proud to support the American Red Cross and its important work across Western North Carolina."

“The cornerstone of our utility is public safety. We can think of no better investment than helping keep families safe with every Asheville Tourists home run. We thank the Asheville Tourists and the American Red Cross for the opportunity to support this important public safety initiative,” said Rusty Harris, Enbridge Gas, Senior Vice President, Gas Distribution and Storage Operations. The Safe at Home Campaign reflects the shared commitment of the Asheville Tourists and Enbridge Gas to making Western North Carolina a safer place to live. By supporting the American Red Cross, the partnership helps provide local families with resources that can prevent home fires and carbon monoxide emergencies, ensuring more people stay safe at home.
