Right-hander Drue Hackenberg matched his brilliance from last week with another spectacular 8.0-inning performance to lead the Columbus Clingstones (35-31, 64-66) to a 4-1 win over the Montgomery Biscuits (69-66, 34-32) on Thursday night at Dabos Park. Right-hander Drue Hackenberg matched his brilliance from last week with another spectacular 8.0-inning performance to lead the Columbus Clingstones (35-31, 64-66) to a 4-1 win over the Montgomery Biscuits (69-66, 34-32) on Thursday night at Dabos Park.

Decisive Plays: Columbus took another first-inning lead after Eric Hartman walked, stole second base and third base, and scored on an RBI fielder's choice from Owen Carey. The lead extended to 2-0 on an RBI single from Dalton McIntyre in the third inning. Hackenberg did not allow his first hit until the fifth inning to Connor Hujsak, who scored on an RBI single from Ryan Spikes to make it 2-1. John Gil extended the lead to 4-1 with a two-run single in the seventh inning. Hackenberg retired Will Simpson on a groundout to shortstop to complete his eighth inning on the mound. Tyler LaPorte (S, 10) struck out Spikes to end the game.

Key Contributors: Hackenberg (W, 8.0 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 9 SO) collected his third winning decision in Double-A this season while Gil (1-for-5, 2 RBI, 2 SB) and Hartman (0-for-3, 2 BB, 2 SB) wreaked havoc on the basepaths. For Montgomery, Spikes (1-for-3, RBI) had the only RBI.

Notable: Hackenberg matched his single-game career high with 8.0 innings, previously set last week against Pensacola. Hackenberg also recorded a season-high nine strikeouts while logging the third-straight quality start for Columbus pitching. The Clingstones stole seven bags on Thursday, the second-highest single-game total in club history.
