MIDLAND - Alejandro Nuñez belted a three-run home run on his birthday and the Hooks authored standout relief pitching Tuesday night as Corpus Christi snapped a four-game slide by picking up a 6-4 win in the series opener at Momentum Bank Ballpark.
Corpus Christi, playing it's final set of the year, stands 12-7 against the RockHounds, including a 5-2 mark in the Permian Basin.
Nuñez, who turned 22 on Tuesday, crushed a three-run home run down the right-field line in the second. Adding in his 11 homers from A-ball, Nuñez has gone deep 13 times on the season. The lefty-hitter from Havana, Cuba is batting .313 in his last 13 games.

Anthony Huezo, Jack Moss, and Zach Daudet each recorded hits in their Double-A debut for Corpus Christi. Huezo's first Texas League knock was an RBI double to right-center in the fifth.
Walks by Will Bush and Moss ignited an eighth-inning rally as Chase Call contributed the go-ahead swing with a two-run single to left. Call homered Saturday and Sunday to close the series vs. Springfield.

Hooks lefty Trey Dombroski struck out six against two runs over 3 1/3 innings.
Jose Guedez, Andrew Marrero, and Railin Perez teamed to hold Midland to one earned run over 5 2/3 innings.
Marrero, who picked up his first Hooks win and Perez, recording his fifth save, recorded 10 straight outs to finish the game.
