Norfolk, VA --- Oliver Dunn hit a clutch, two-out, three-run home run in the eighth inning to lift the Durham Bulls past the Norfolk Tides 4-1 on Friday night at Harbor Park.

Dunn’s homer came off Norfolk reliever J. Walker (L, 2-3) with two outs and two runners aboard, breaking a scoreless tie to flip the game in Durham's favor. The blast was Dunn’s 12th home run of the season. The Bulls (32-47) later tacked on an insurance run in the top of the ninth inning when Kinney drove in a run with a sacrifice fly.

The late offensive explosion rewarded a favorable start by Durham’s Forret, who kept the Tides (28-51) off the board through 5 scoreless innings. Forret allowed just three hits and struck out seven in a dominant performance. Norfolk starter Kremer was matching him zero for zero, turning in 6.2 scoreless frames with eight strikeouts while holding Durham to only two hits.

Norfolk finally broke through in the bottom of the seventh against Durham reliever Rooney (W, 1-1). Fabian drove in the game's opening run to give the Tides a brief 1-0 lead. However, Rooney earned the win after the Bulls rallied in the very next frame.

Owen Wild pitched a scoreless eighth inning to record his second hold of the year, and Alberto closed the door in the ninth to secure his second save. Despite Norfolk’s aggressive baserunning, headlined by Bradfield Jr. stealing four bases on the night, the Tides went 0-for-9 with runners in scoring position and left eight men stranded.

The series continues on Saturday evening at Harbor Park, with first pitch scheduled for 6:35 PM.

Notes: Durham starting pitcher Forret dominated over his 5.0 scoreless frames, allowing only three hits while striking out seven... Reliever Rooney (1-1) picked up his first victory of the season ... Jake Cave notched his first stolen base of the season with the Bulls.
