Late Homer Lifts Norfolk Past Durham

Durham, NC --- Jeremiah Jackson clubbed a three-run homer in the seventh sending the Norfolk Tides past the Durham Bulls 7-4 on Sunday afternoon at the DBAP.

Durham (32-24) took a 4-3 lead into the seventh after Oliver Dunn and Logan Davidson went back-to-back to put the Bulls ahead. Dunn drilled his 19th homer with two aboard in the fifth, followed by Davidson's first-pitch homer to left-center.

However, Jackson took a slider from Alex Cook (L, 1-4) over the left field wall to put the Tides (21-33) up for good.

Five Durham pitchers combined for 15 strikeouts, including a season-high seven from starter Jake Woodford.

The four-run fifth inning was the only inning in which the Bulls scored. Durham stranded just two baserunners in the game.

The Tides took four of the six games in the series, although the Bulls won the season-series 13-11.

Durham heads off to Memphis on Tuesday night at 7:45 PM ET entering the final 18 games of the regular season.
