Curve Plate Five Runs in 10th Inning to Beat Senators 12-7, Take Series Lead

HARRISBURG, Pa. (Sept. 3, 2026) — The Senators and Curve were tied 7-7 heading into extras before Altoona plated five runs in the 10th on only one hit. Harrisburg struck out in order in the bottom of the inning and lost 12-7.
The Sens took a first-inning lead for the second straight night. Nick Mitchell singled, and Devin Fitz-Gerald blasted a two-run homer to lead 2-0.
The Curve then scored five runs in the third off LHP Josh Hartle on five hits and an error to lead 5-2.
Hartle had retired the first six hitters he faced before running into trouble in the third. In all, the left-hander went 4.2 innings, allowing five runs, three earned, on five hits, two walks and four strikeouts.
RHP Blake Brown was first in relief, retiring the lone batter he faced to finish the fifth.
Harrisburg had a big inning of its own in the bottom of the fifth. Kervin Pichardo drew a leadoff walk, and Mitchell singled. A groundout advanced the runners to second and third with only one out.
Branden Boissiere then scored them both with a single to cut the deficit to 5-4.
With two outs, after a Sam Brown walk, Caleb Lomavita drove in Boissiere to tie the game 5-5.
TJ White followed with a double to score Brown and take a 6-5 lead.
LHP Richard Lovelady began his rehab appearance with a scoreless sixth inning but left with two in scoring position and only one out in the seventh. Lonnie White Jr. hit a two-out, two-RBI single off RHP Luke Young to put the Curve back in front, leading 7-6.
Still trailing 7-6 in the eighth, Fitz-Gerald hit a two-out single to drive in Cortland Lawson and tie the game 7-7.
RHP Sandy Gaston (L, 4-6) retired the side in order in the ninth, helping to force extras.
In the 10th, Altoona plated five runs on only one hit. Harrisburg committed three errors in the frame and a season-high five errors in the game.
The Curve led 12-7 then struck out the side in order in the bottom of the inning to end the game.
The Senators aim to tie the series back up Friday night at 7:00 p.m. RHP Yoel Tejeda Jr. (0-5) has the start.
