Wilmington, Del. (Sept. 1, 2026) – The Hudson Valley Renegades dropped a rain-shortened five-inning game to the Wilmington Blue Rocks 6-0 on Tuesday night at Frawley Stadium.

The game was called early due to inclement weather after the top of the fifth inning.

With the defeat the Renegades have dropped four of their last six games after a stretch where they went 14-2 in a 16-game stretch.

The Renegades were shut out for the sixth time this season and the first time since 8/1 (Game 1) vs Jersey Shore.

The Renegades were held to just two hits in the game but drew six walks and also were hit by a pitch. However, the Renegades left eight runners on base in five innings coming to the plate.

Hudson Valley left the bases loaded in both the third and fifth innings.

Hudson Valley fell to 11-14 this season against the Blue Rocks.

RHP Luis Serna (4.0 IP, 8 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 4 BB, 5 K) allowed six runs on eight hits and got the loss in the series opener but threw the first complete game of his career in the rain-shortened affair.

Serna threw the fifth complete game of the season for the Renegades, tying the inaugural 1994 team for most complete games thrown in a single season.

Serna is only the fourth pitcher in all levels of Minor League Baseball this year to throw a complete game of 4.0 innings.

With five strikeouts, Serna improved his season-total to 133 strikeouts on the season, the most in the South Atlantic League and second-most in a single season in Renegades history. Only Drew Thorpe (138 in 2023) has had more.

CF Jackson Lovich (1-for-3, 2B) has gotten on base in 16 of his last 17 games played.

Lovich had a double in the third inning for the first Hudson Valley hit of the game. It was the second straight game that Lovich has a two-base hit.

In 29 games with the Renegades, Lovich has ripped nine extra-base hits.

C Eric Genther (1-for-3) extended his team-high on-base streak to 15 games.

Genther is hitting .291/.418/.509 over the stretch with 9 R, 3 2B, 3 HR, 11 RBI, 10 BB, 12 K, 2-for-2 SB.

DH Maika Niu (0-for-0, 3 BB, SB) walked in all three of his plate appearances, his first career three-walk game.

1B Kyle West (0-for-1, 2 BB, 2 SB) walked twice and stole two bases.

West is up to 17 steals on the season, and is three stolen bases shy of becoming the first Renegades player ever to hit 20 homers and steal 20 bases in the same season.
