Galiette is in his 41st year with the Louisville Bats Baseball Club and 5th in his current role as the team’s President. The Louisville native joined the Louisville Redbirds front office as a sales intern in 1984 and has served as the team’s public address announcer, ticket manager, sales manager, promotions director and marketing director prior to his promotion to the Bats’ senior leadership staff.
Galiette was named Senior Vice President in 2013 and elevated to President following the 2020 season. In his current position, he oversees the day-to-day operations of the Louisville Bats’ front office, including assisting with marketing initiatives, sponsorship activation, media and player relations and ongoing ballpark projects.
Galiette attended the University of Louisville on a partial scholarship for track and field in 1978. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in marketing in 1983.
Galiette and his wife, Kelly, along with their children, twins Anthony and Erika, reside in Louisville.
Tom Backemeyer - General Manager

Tom Backemeyer joined the Bats as General Manager in April, 2026. He came to Louisville after spending over three years as the Vice President and General Manager of the Sioux City Explorers of the American Association. Born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska, Backemeyer is a graduate of Colorado State University (BS) and the University of Denver (MBA). He has professional experiences across multiple levels of professional baseball including time with the Vancouver Canadians, Lancaster JetHawks, Everett AquaSox, Fresno Grizzlies, and Rancho Cucamonga Quakes.
