Emma Tiedemann will be on the mic for her seventh season as the ‘Voice of the Sea Dogs’ and her ninth as a play-by-play broadcaster in Minor League Baseball. During her time in Portland, she has established herself as one of the pioneering female voices in Minor League Baseball. Last season, she called the play-by-play at Fenway Park, comprising the first completely female broadcast in Red Sox history, when they hosted the Kansas City Royals. In 2024, Emma made more history as part of the first female duo to call a Boston Red Sox game, and was later named Maine’s Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sports Media Association (NSMA). She was also named to the 2023 class of 40 Under 40 by MaineBiz. Prior to joining the Sea Dogs, Emma spent two seasons as Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations for the Lexington Legends, where she called back-to-back South Atlantic League Championship seasons. In 2019, she was honored as the South Atlantic League Media Relations Director of the Year. Before her time in Lexington, Emma worked as the Broadcast and Media Relations Assistant for the St. Paul Saints, then an independent baseball team. She previously spent two seasons as Broadcast and Communications Manager for the Medford Rogues, a collegiate summer team, and in 2014 was part of the broadcast team for the Mat-Su Miners in Palmer, Alaska. Originally from away, Emma grew up in Richardson, Texas and graduated from the University of Missouri in 2015.
