ST. PAUL, MN (September 28, 2026) - He came into the 2026 season as one of the most heralded prospects in baseball. There was no denying his talent. His play this season backed all of that up. Walker Jenkins, who played just under half a season worth of games for the St. Paul Saints, produced eye popping numbers in a short period of time. He was recognized for his incredible season by being selected as an International League Post-Season All-Star in the outfield.
The 21-year-old Jenkins hit .308 with 12 home runs and 28 RBI in 69 games. In 263 at bats he scored 51 runs, produced 17 doubles, three triples, swiped 17 bases in 21 attempts and slashed .308/.407/.532/.939. He finished third in the International League in wRC+ (143) and sixth in average among hitters with at least 300 plate appearances.
From June 22, the day he returned from seven weeks on the injured list with a shoulder injury, through August 28 when he had his contract purchased by the Minnesota Twins, he hit .335 with 10 home runs and 19 RBI in 44 games while slashing .335/.413/.607/1.020. During that time, he was tied for second in the International League in triples (3), third in slugging percentage and total bases (105), fourth in OPS, tied for fourth in runs (36), fifth in hits (58), tied for fifth in extra-base hits (24), and eighth in average. He closed his time with the Saints in the month of August slashing .411/.488/.795/1.283 in 18 games.
He was one of five players in Triple-A with at least 300 plate appearances and among those five players he was the lone player with at least a .300 average, 10 or more home runs and a .900 OPS.
The Post-Season All-Stars were voted on by each of the 20 managers and broadcaster from each team in the International League. Managers and broadcasters were unable to vote for a player from their own team. The team was announced during the Triple-A National Championship game in Las Vegas on Saturday night.
Jenkins becomes the second Saints position player to be named an International League Post-Season All-Star joining catcher Tomás Telis in 2021. Three pitchers have also received the honor: Louie Varland and Kody Funderburk in 2023 and Mick Abel in 2025.
