The Express jumped out to a one-run lead in the first. 1B Alejandro Osuna doubled to start the game before advancing to third on a flyout. Osuna scored on a fielding error from SS Yolmer Sánchez for the game’s first run.
Round Rock extended their lead with a pair of runs in the fourth. SS Keyber Rodriguez launched a 412-foot solo home run and CF Orlando Martinez added an RBI single to drive in C Julian Brock, who singled earlier in the inning. The E-Train held a 3-0 advantage after four complete.
1B Niko Kavadas drove in the lone run for the Bees with a solo home run in the fifth to cut the deficit to two.
The E-Train added two insurance runs over the eighth and ninth innings. LF Trevor Hauver singled and advanced to second base on a wild pitch. One batter later, Martinez drove in Hauver with a single to center field to regain a three-run lead in the eighth. DH Josh Jung followed up the next inning with an RBI double, sending Osuna home from second to make it a 5-1 lead. RHP Michel Otañez kept the Bees scoreless in the ninth as the E-Train won the series opener.

RHP WINSTON SANTOS: (W, 6.0 IP, 3 H, 1 R-ER, 5 SO, HR, 65 pitches, 47 strikes) tossed a season-high 6.0 innings in his 7th start with Round Rock… retired the first 10 batters he faced before allowing a double in the 4th to LF Cade Marlowe… did not allow a walk in his outing for the 3rd time this season… 15th time a Round Rock starter has tossed 5.0+ innings and did not allow a walk… retired 5 batters on the 1st pitch he threw… has taken the win in his last 2 road outings… generated 3 strikeouts with his slider, one with his sweeper and the other with his fastball.
INF KEYBER RODRIGUEZ: snapped an 0-for-10 streak against Salt Lake with a solo home run in the 4th inning… Rodriguez began his Express tenure against the Bees after joining the Round Rock roster on 5/29 and was held hitless over his first 3 G… has now homered against every PCL team this season… is now T-1st (INF/OF Cam Cauley) among Round Rock hitters with 14 home runs this season… 9 of his 14 long balls have come on the road, also tied with Cauley for the most among E-Train batters.
OF ORLANDO MARTINEZ: drove in a team-high 2 runs on Tuesday night… has driven in multiple runs in 2 of the 5 games he has played this month… has also collected multiple hits in 3 of the 5 contests this month as well… is off to a hot start in September, slashing .412/.474/.529 with 5 RBI while striking out just once in his 17 at-bats.
DH JOSH JUNG: finished the night going 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI in his first rehab appearance with the Express… singled in the 1st… worked an 8-pitch at-bat before driving in a run with a double in the 9th…was assigned to Round Rock today after being placed on the injured list on 7/22 with a left calf strain.
