Yankees Heritage Night Honoring Mickey Mantle With Bobbleheads And Danny Mantle Appearance

Bridgewater, New Jersey – The Somerset Patriots, the New York Yankees Double-A affiliate, will host Yankees Heritage Night honoring Mickey Mantle at TD Bank Ballpark on Friday, July 31. The Patriots take on the Richmond Flying Squirrels (San Francisco Giants) at 7:05 pm.

The first 1,000 adults in attendance will receive a Mickey Mantle bobblehead when they enter the ballpark, courtesy of Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey.

This year’s Yankees Heritage Night will feature a special appearance by Danny Mantle, Mickey’s son, who will participate in a pre-game moderated Q&A on the field, throw out a ceremonial first pitch and meet fans on the main concourse during the game.

Mickey Mantle is considered to be one of the greatest baseball players of all time. He spent his entire career with the Yankees from 1951-1968 and amassed 536 HR, 1,676 R, 2,415 H, 1,509 RBI and a .298 BA.

Inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1974, “The Mick” won seven World Series (1951-1953, 1956, 1958, 1961, 1962), three AL MVP (1956, 1957, 1962), the Triple Crown (1956) and was named to 20 All-Star Games (1952-1965, 1967, 1968).

This is the fifth Yankees Heritage Night hosted by the Patriots. The team has previously honored Elston Howard, Yogi Berra, Joe Torre and Babe Ruth at the events.
