DASH HEADED TO SOUTH ATLANTIC LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP

The Winston-Salem Dash are headed to a league championship series for the first time since 2012 and will host Game 1 of the South Atlantic League Championship Series on Sunday, September 13 at 2 p.m. at Truist Stadium.

The Dash secured their spot in the best-of-three championship series by sweeping the Bowling Green Hot Rods in the South Division Series. Winston-Salem rallied from an early six-run deficit to win Game 1, 9-8, in 10 innings before clinching the series with a 4-1 victory Thursday night at Bowling Green Ballpark.

The series victory was Winston-Salem’s first postseason series win since 2012. The Dash are now seeking the city’s first league championship since the Winston-Salem Warthogs won the Carolina League title in 2003.

Winston-Salem will face the winner of Friday night’s decisive Game 3 between the Frederick Keys and Greensboro Grasshoppers. The Dash’s opponent and the remainder of the championship schedule will be announced following the conclusion of the North Division Series.
